CENSUS
2000 PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the next Decennial Census
will be taken in the year 2000, and the political representation to the
United State House of Representatives, state legislatures and local
governments is determined by the Decennial Census, and the Town of
Grafton recognized the equal importance of each resident in the 2000
Census counts; and WHEREAS, the Town of Grafton has agreed to be
one of the 39,000 government entities in partnership with the U.S.
Bureau of the Census; and WHEREAS, the Town of Grafton understands that
its primary role in this is to assist the Bureau of the Census to
achieve as accurate a count of the residents of the Town of Grafton as
possible; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town
of Grafton do hereby proclaim full support of and participation in the
overwhelming success of Census 2000, with the goal of a 100% count of
the residents within the Town of Grafton.
